Anushka Sharma
through her talent, confidence and personal hardships. This model-turned-actress
was born on 1st May, 1988 in Bangalore her father is a high ranked army officer
and her mother is a housewife. She grew up with her elder brother who was
a state-level cricketer and is now in the Merchant Navy. After schooling from
Army School she completed her graduation in arts from Mount Carmel College,
Bangalore. She is currently studying for a degree in economics at Mount Carmel,
which she is completing through correspondence.
From the very young age this God-gifted face wished to be a model.
To fulfill her dream Anushka enrolled herself in Elite Modelling Agency, where she
was groomed by renowned style consultant Prasad Bidapa.

She was chosen as the face of the year for the Lakme India Fashion Week in 2007.
She was selected as a show-stopper by Designer Wendell Rodricks for his finale
show in 2007 at Fashion week. Within a year she became a sensational model
in India, and was picked to be Wendell Rodricks's finale model at the Spring
Summer '07 Collection. She was offered a number of modeling assignments from
Whisper, Silk & Shine, Fiat Palio,
In 2008 a significant turning point in her life came when she got a golden chance
to make her debut in Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and to start career with
the King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan of Bollywood. The film was a huge success and
her performance was appreciated. She was nominated for Filmfare Award for
Best Actress.
Beautiful reviews were showered upon Anushka for her second film, Badmaash
Company, also under Yash Raj Films, was released on May 7, 2010. She starred in
her third Yash Raj Film, Band Baaja Baaraat, directed by Maneesh Sharma and co-
starring debutant Ranveer Singh. Band Baaja Baaraat was released on December
10, 2010. For this film also she was nominated Filmfare Award for Best Actres.
Her first venture outside of Yash Raj Films was Nikhil Advani’s Patiala House co-
starred with Akshay Kumar which released in February, 2011.
Her first acting role was in (2008) opposite Shah Rukh Khan. was her first venture
outside of Yash Raj Films, with She opposite Ranveer Singh again in Yash Raj’s
Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl.
We just watched her in the recently released trailer of Yash Chopra’s latest movie,
Jab Tak Hai Jaan, starring with none other than Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
She will be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj's Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, opposite Imran
Khan, which will be released on January 11, 2013. Her fans are waiting for the
films, she just has signed, Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet opposite Ranbir
Kapoor and Rajkumar Hirani's Peekay.
